Overview
Celkeran (Chlorambucil) is an alkylating agent used in the treatment of chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), Hodgkin's lymphoma, and other cancers. It works by interfering with the DNA in cancer cells, preventing their ability to divide and grow. This oral medication is usually prescribed when other therapies are not effective or suitable for the patient. Chlorambucil is considered a relatively mild chemotherapy drug, effective for managing cancers and autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis and nephrotic syndrome.
