Overview
Janumet 50 mg/500 mg Tablets contain a combination of Sitagliptin (50 mg) and Metformin Hydrochloride (500 mg), two oral antihyperglycemic agents used to manage type 2 diabetes mellitus. Sitagliptin is a DPP-4 inhibitor that increases incretin levels to stimulate insulin secretion and reduce glucagon levels. Metformin is a biguanide that lowers glucose production in the liver and improves insulin sensitivity. This formulation is typically used when blood sugar is not adequately controlled with Metformin alone.
