Rizatriptan 10 mg Tablets are used for the acute treatment of migraine attacks with or without aura in adults. As part of the triptan class, this medication works by stimulating serotonin receptors to reduce inflammation and constrict widened blood vessels in the brain, thereby providing fast relief from migraine symptoms.

Indications

Dosage & Administration
  • Recommended adult dose: One 10 mg tablet at the onset of migraine symptoms
  • If the migraine returns, a second dose may be taken after 2 hours
  • Do not exceed 30 mg in 24 hours
  • Tablets may be taken with or without food, swallowed whole with water
  • Note: In patients taking propranolol, the recommended dose may be reduced to 5 mg due to increased Rizatriptan levels.
Warnings & Precautions
  • Do not use Rizatriptan 10 mg if you:
  • Have heart disease, history of stroke, or circulatory issues
  • Have severe liver disease
  • Are currently taking ergotamine-based drugs or other triptans
  • Have uncontrolled high blood pressure
  • Use with caution if:
  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • You are over 65 years of age
  • You are taking SSRIs, SNRIs, MAO inhibitors, or propranolol
